Neurodiversiteit is een maatschappelijk vertoog, dat doorwerkt in de systeemtherapeutische ruimte. In dit artikel illustreren we hoe de stem van neurodiversiteit kan bijdragen aan een blijvende focus op relaties, dialoog en verbinding in de systeemtherapeutische praktijk. We starten met een situering van het neurodiversiteitsdenken. Daarna verkennen we aan de hand van praktijkvoorbeelden hoe het neurodiversiteitsdenken mogelijk een zinvolle stem kan zijn binnen de systeemtherapeutische praktijk, waarbij we stilstaan bij hoe dit vertoog kan helpen in het creëren van alternatieve betekenissen, vermindering van onmacht en het versterken van verbinding en afstemming binnen gezinnen. Deze praktijkvoorbeelden koppelen we vervolgens aan wat hierover in de systemische literatuur wordt gezegd. We concluderen dat neurodiversiteit het meest klinisch vruchtbaar is wanneer het zorgvuldig wordt binnengebracht als één stem in de polyfonie: niet als nieuwe waarheid, maar als uitnodiging tot dialoog die zowel verbreding als verandering ondersteunt.
