Als psycholoog, psychotherapeut en ook als beeldend therapeut zoek ik dagelijks naar een manier om verbale en non-verbale ingrediënten evenwaardig in de hulpverleningskeuken met elkaar te vermengen. In dit artikel breng ik creative journaling, een specifieke techniek binnen het beeldend medium, onder de aandacht. Aan de hand van een casus uit de praktijk wil ik de lezer getuige maken van de werkzaamheid van deze methode waarbij ik creatieve dagboeken inzet om cliënten en hun systemen te helpen bij het reguleren, mentaliseren en het (opnieuw) relateren met anderen binnen (trauma)therapie.
